Santana Serpens is designed and developed like a traditional LP model, but it is equipped with some modifications that make it more adapted to the modern electric guitarist. The Serpens is equipped with a mahogany body that delivers excellent resonance, and Hot PAF style humbucker microphones. Both pickups are equipped with coil-tap, so they can optionally be run in humbucker or in single-coil mode via push-pull buttons in the volume controls. The ability to run the pickups in single-coil mode allows you to produce a more brilliant and crisp sound with the Serpens Standard than you would otherwise be able to.
The guitar has a set-neck mahogany neck with a slim neck profile and a rosewood fingerboard, which gives a very familiar playing feel.
