Santana Canis is designed and developed like a traditional TL model, but it is equipped with some modifications that make it more adapted to the modern guitarist. Canis is equipped with a Basswood body, which gives the electric guitar a well-defined sound that cuts well through and which gives the guitar warmth and midrange.

Danish guitars
Santana’s electric guitars are designed and developed in Denmark. The guitars are inspired by the old Santana electric guitars, which were promoted in the 70s, and the high quality that they presented at the time. The new generation of Santana electric guitars is designed according to the same principles, but with a more modern look that suits today’s guitarists.
Single coil pickups
The pickups are specially developed according to vintage specifications so that they retain the original look of the TL model. However, Santana has chosen to make the pickups more powerful and balanced, so that they better meet the tastes and needs of the modern electric guitarist.
Baked maple neck
The neck has been given a special treatment, where you “bake” the maple wood in a low-oxygen environment, to draw all excess moisture out of the wood – it gives the guitar a more resonant and expressive tone like the tone you get from an electric guitar, which is old and worn.
The neck is equipped with a rosewood fingerboard with a modern 9.5 inch radius and medium / jumbo frets. The size of the frets means that the guitar is easier to play – both in terms of hitting the notes clean with your fingers and because it is easier to bend and vibrate.
Luxury details
Genuine bone saddle and locking tuners are some of the very useful luxury details on the Canis. Both features mean far better tuning stability, giving you more time for carefree guitar playing. Another useful feature is the “easy access truss rod”.
Other luxury details are the beautiful satin finish and of course the cool “S” inlays in the fingerboard.
